To supplement the internal and external consultations that have already taken place on the NSERC Accessibility Plan, we are inviting employees, members of the research community, and the general public to provide feedback through this form to improve the plan and to make sure that accessibility barriers have been addressed in all areas. Privacy Statement
Authority:
The information you provide in the Accessibility Plan Feedback Form is collected under the authority of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council Act. The collection, use, retention and disposal of your personal information are in accordance with the Access to Information Act and
Privacy Act.
Purpose and uses:
The Accessible Canada Act requires that internal employees of all federal institutions, and external stakeholders be given a mechanism to provide feedback on the Accessibility Plan, including an option for anonymous feedback. The purpose for the collection and use of your personal information through [the form] is to fulfill the responsibility of [SSHRC/NSERC] to monitor the Accessibility Plan.
Feedback Requirement and Provision of Personal Information:
Personal information is collected in accordance with the
Privacy Act. The personal information collected will be used to compile feedback about the Accessibility Plan on one or more of the following categories:

General comments
Government departments and agencies must provide a way to submit anonymous feedback. The Accessibility Feedback Form provides an option to provide feedback either in an identifiable form or anonymously. The anonymous option is to collect information that cannot be identified as belonging to any one employee or person; however, depending on the level of information provided the responses may inadvertently identify you.
Privacy Practices:
Your personal information collected by NSERC through the [form] will be stored in NSERC corporate systems for a period of 7 years as required by the Accessible Canada Act and as described in standard personal information bank PSE 907, Occupational Health and Safety
or
PRN 904, Outreach Activities, depending on whether you are an NSERC employee or an external stakeholder.
Refusal to provide your information will not have any administrative consequences. However, please note that anonymous feedback will not receive a direct response.
If you submit feedback in an identifiable form, your responses will never be attributed to you if used in any narrative summaries of feedback.
Confirmation and Privacy Rights:
By submitting your information, you are confirming that you have read and understood this privacy notice statement and provide your personal information in accordance with it. In addition to protecting your personal information, the Privacy Act gives you the right to request access to and correction of your personal information. If you believe your personal information has been mishandled or have concerns about NSERC's privacy practices, you have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
